November Newsletters 2019

President's Report

Hi, hope all is going good with you, let’s hope you are getting a line in the water, even if just to practice for our upcoming Christmas competition. Scary isn’t it, the jolly big fella in the red suit is soon due to visit. On that note we have it on good authority that he will be at our prizegiving so bring the kids along, drop a present (of$10.00 maximum value, and well named) in the box for Santa to hand out to them and watch the fun. The night of course is the 8th of December.

For those who came along to the November competition you would already know what an excellent evening we had. It would be fair to say the turnout was not one of our biggest, but the enthusiasm from those who attended was awesome.

Once again, the prizes lined up looked amazing, a great big thank you goes to all our wonderful sponsors. This year once again we had 35 of them so obviously too many to put in my report so please take the time while reading the newsletter to note the sponsors page, and when you are shopping this summer please support them if you can, also don’t forget to thank them.

I don’t like to single out any sponsors for November, but I must say a great big thank you to our major ones, once again of course the comp would not be the same without Swaps who do so much around our wee town. Swaps are also a major sponsor for December, along with Comag, Golden Flow, Indulgence Beauty and Day Spa, and we all go in the draw to win the Viking Kayak.

The prizes for December of course are those fantastic hams from Graham and the team at Matamata Butchery, along with awesome gift baskets from New World, also more hams etc for lucky member draws so make sure you are there ah!

A couple of things to take note of:

1. There is a prize for the heaviest snapper caught in the firth of Thames, the committee thought it would create a little comp within the compass, there are a lot of people who head up there.

2. There is now a freshwater boat trophy for the season so get out on those lakes.

See you all on the 8th

Happy fishing, Bungey
