President's Report
Hi and welcome to the new season for our awesome fishing club. I would like to firstly thank our hard-working committee for their continued support. We have a great team and they are always trying to do their best for you the members. We had one stand down due to work commitments, our long-time serving committee man Stephen Butcher, Butch was a lot of fun and I would like to thank him very much on behalf of you all.
As you know our first competition was to be on the 5th and 6th of September sponsored by Matamata Mitre 10 and Sign Tint, unfortunately due to Covid 19 the comp was cancelled. So, our first competition for the new season will be on the 3rd and 4th of October, and our wonderful September sponsors are happy to include their prizes in the October Competition.
They will be joining of course our long-time traditional sponsors for October, Daltons, Matamata Directional Drilling, and Chooky’s Auto. This is going to mean more categories for you and your family to fish for, great stuff ah.
I would like to take this chance to remind you to make a conscious effort to support our sponsors, many small businesses have and are still going through a tough time with this Covid 19 pandemic and yet they are still supporting us.
Looking forward to our December competition one of our long-time sponsors made a good suggestion to us. Their thoughts were about the conflict with dates of the local Christmas Parade, and the December competition, “could we move the competition to the second weekend of December”? After consulting with committee and considering a lot of families love to go to parade, we thought yep good idea. So please mark on your calendars now, December competition will be 12th and 13th
