President's Report

Hi all, hope the weather hasn’t stopped you from casting a line or two, to be fair we did need the rain ah. There has been some very nice fish getting caught by a lot of people up in the Coromandel, I hope you have been one of them. Our May competition went off well, when you consider it was duck season opening and Mother’s Day, we were very pleased with the turnout. There were some very nice fish weighed in with best ones coming from the north. You must take your hat off to Phil, he fishes well when he’s got Bob (Smooth Hound) coaching him ah. As you all know we would not have such awesome comps without the support of our sponsors. This month is no exception, Paul Jones Contracting, Fairview Motors, Vercoe Insurance, and of course Bell and Graham Solicitors, all contributed to an awesome line up of prizes. Our next competition falls on Queens Birthday weekend so it’s going to be a three-day affair, yah. Sponsored by Phil Stephens Racing, DeRosa Cabinetmakers and Kitchens, and new this season and many thanks for com[1]ing on board are Grant and Stef Atkinson, trading as Whitehall Shoeing Company Ltd. This should be an excellent comp and who knows, the Bluefin might have started running by then. Thanks to Denchy and our sub committee we are having a hunting section for the July comp, deer, pigs etc and possums, rabbits etc for the kids, get in behind this, it will be a lot of fun. You can come in and pay at Sportsworld, we will delegate a number and a set of rules.

 Tight lines, Bungey
