President's Report

Hi all, I hope all is good with you, your family, and friends, most of all I hope you have had a chance to drop a line in the water, fresh or salt. I have to say wow, what a great competition we had to finish our season off. If you weren’t able to get there you missed something quite special. For many years Steve Dench and family organised a hunting competition for locals, firstly through the workies, then the Big Club. Steve suggested to us, the fishing club, that we run it together with our July competition, turned out to be a great idea, as many fishos are hunters too of course. We had an awesome turn out with over 70 participants in the hunting section, adults and kids alike enjoyed competing for the wonderful line up of prizes. As with fishing we have incredible support from our local businesses, please take the time to have a look in the results page for July to see the wonderful list of our awesome locals. Once again special thanks to Steve, Linda, and Selena, and of course the committee, without the efforts of people like these in our club these sorts of events wouldn’t happen.

Our next competition is on the 3rd and 4th of September but we have plenty to get through before then. Our prizegiving is on the 13th of August, please make an effort to get there as it’s good to support the prize winners, they have put a lot of effort into winning the trophy. So, let’s help them celebrate Our sponsors for September are our own Mitre 10 and Nulook Waikato, Lynn and Darrin are great supporters of our club so put the date on your calendar. Now last but not least our AGM is on the 17th of August, come along and be involved in the running of a very cool club, see you there.

Happy days,

 Bungey
