President's Report
Hi,
I hope you are enjoying some autumn weather and casting a line or two. Hard to believe we are already approaching the May competition, not sure if it’s just an age thing or what but time seems to fly.
Our April competition was a bit weather-affected but still turned out to be a good one. Many thanks must go out to our long-time sponsors LJ Hooker, Matamata Auto Services and Electrical, and of course the kids section by Waharoa Transport. While there wasn’t a huge crowd at the prizegiving there was plenty of fun had by all. On saying that there were 35 kids having plenty of fun with parents and grandparents having a good catch up.
Our next competition coincides with the opening of duck hunting weekend so there will be a prize for Mystery Duck as well. The weekend will be sponsored by a great team: Vercoe Insurance; Fairview Motors; the legend Paul Jones; and Bell and Graham Solicitors, so it will be a good one. Also we have a Mother’s Day prize, so all you mums cast a line in the water. Autumn is a great time of year for big snapper so let’s hope we see a 20LB plus come to the scales.
Looking forward a wee bit, we are going to incorporate hunting into our July competition again so mark that on your calendar now, it will be something to really look forward to.
