Our other awesome sponsors were of course the Laurent boys but they were so busy shifting stock etc that they couldn’t make it. These locals are all...

June Newsletters 2018

Hi, wow can you believe it, only one comp to go in our club season. May I take this chance to say I think it has been a good one. We have had very good numbers at our weigh ins and prizegivings, and a big percentage of the members have been women and children, great ah. Can I also say that things run very smoothly, this is where I am very lucky as president, I have a great team of ommittee behind me and that’s what counts. It would be fair to say the crowd wasn’t huge, but we still had over 70 in the club rooms for the prize giving, very cosy.  The cool thing to me was still plenty of kids.I know I took one of our wee Grandies out, Grayson, just 3 years and we had a great time, something I can highly recommend to you all. I would like to say a great big thank you to our sponsors for May – Fairview Mo...

April Newsletter 2018

Hi all, hope all is good with you and your families, a bit of a shock last week to have a frost but it is autumn and those sudden southerlies will do that. The good news is there is still plenty of very good autumn fishing to come, as the water temperature drops the bite time increases as the snapper feed up to put condition on for the winter, not a bad idea that. The April competition weekend saw some strong winds around the coastlines but I’m very pleased to say we still had a very good turn...

March Newletter 2018

Hi all, hope all is good with you and you are setting aside a bit of time to put aline in the water. I am really pleased to say the March comp was another good one. We had a funny weekend with blue skies overhead but out at sea there was quite a strong wind, particularly on the east coast. The cool thing is, regardless of that, and the fact that quite a few didn’t get out, we still had a good turnout at the weigh in and prize giving. This is one thing that I’m loving about the club at the mo...

Hi, what a great start to 2018, not our first competition for the season of course but the first for the new year. Sunday evening saw over 100 people in attendance at the weigh in and over 30 of them were children, great to see the juniors enjoying themselves so much ah. While there was not a huge number of fish weighed in there was still plenty donated for the cooking. Many thanks to those who consistently give forth their prize catches. Phil and Chooky have that cooking down to a fine art, Wil...
