April Newsletter 2017

President's Report

Hi all and thank you. What for? Well, for making our April Competition
another fun filled family weigh in. The day saw nearly 40 kids turn up and
they even brought along over a hundred adults with them, mums, dads,
grandparents and friends made for a great evening.
There were a lot of very nice fish weighed in and anglers ranged from
the very young like Isaak Crosland with a beautiful Kingi to the very
experienced like Arrum Ali with the heaviest snapper. Congratulations to all
the anglers, you will see them all listed in the newsletter.
Did you see that our very own Zara Clifton ended up winning the Furuno
Snapper World Cup with her magnificent 12.26kg monster from up north,
you go girl and well done to her skipper and partner Logan Craw.
Many thanks must go out to our sponsors Jack and Colleen Van Leirop,
they have carried on the long tradition of LJ Hooker's support. Thank you
also to Brian and Kerry Raupi from Matamata Auto Services and Electrical,
and of course Glenn and Sharon Clothier from the Team at Waharoa
Transport getting in behind the kids.
Last competition we had a wee competition for the best presented bin
of fish. Congratulations to Kevin and Nikki for taking out the voucher from
Sportsworld. This has been done to make it fun to encourage you all to ice
down and treat your fish with care, we will do the same again this month so
make an effort.
Sponsors for May are a great team AMI, Fairview Motors Matamata, Paul Jones
Contracting, and Vaughan and Grayson from Laurent Contractors. May is a
great time of the year to fish so get out there and do it.
When you come into weigh in PLEASE have your Fish clearly identified and
separated for each angler AND have your membership card or your number
on hand, this makes life for the weigh master and Debbie much easier, and
faster.
Happy Fishing,
Bungey
