President's Report
Wow here we are, the last comp for our season is upon us and it should be another
good one. Wasn't June a beauty, lots of nice fish weighed in and an awesome array of prizes
thanks to our wonderful sponsors, Harry Fort Decorators, Allenco Marine, and of course
our new man Arrum Ali from AA Farrier Services.
Lots of fun was had by all including a heap of very happy kids, the smiles on their wee faces
when they came up to get their spot prizes was classic.
July is the Kerry McKinley Memorial comp of course and I'm sure the Sheriff will be with
you all as you cast your lines looking for that big one to finish the season on a high note.
Now don't forget the July competition is made up of three very good sponsors,
Matamata Tractors and Machinery, Bell & Graham Solicitors and of course our new
ones Pieter and Wiena Nel from Install Tech, and of course donations from members.
That's your chance to be involved.
This year we have put up a $500 Travel Voucher from Joanne Prevett Travel which
she has very kindly helped sponsor. The tickets are just $5 so if you come into the
shop between now and the comp, a donation of $50 you will get 10 tickets, a donation of
$20 will equal 4 tickets etc.
Please make an effort to get along to our prize giving on the 12th of August. Come
along from 5.30pm for a 6.30pm prize giving. This year we are going to put on a light meal
for you free of charge. These nights are a lot of fun if you get involved so make an effort
to get along and show your support for the winners.
To give us an idea for catering can you please let us know if you are coming along. Call into
the shop or text me on 027 472 8674.
Next on the calendar is the AGM. This will be held on the 16th of August with a 6.30pm
start. At the moment we have a very good committee in place; these people voluntarily
give a lot of their time to make your club a success. If you feel you would like to be
involved come along and throw your hat in the ring.
We are always looking for proactive members to get involved, and for ways to make our
club even bigger and better. If you have any ideas please come along and have your say.
At the end of the day it is your Club.
