President's Report
Hi, wow can you believe it, only one comp to go in our club season. May I take this chance to say I think it has been a good one. We have had very good numbers at our weigh ins and prizegivings, and a big percentage of the members have been women and children, great ah. Can I also say that things run very smoothly, this is where I am very lucky as president, I have a great team of ommittee behind me and that’s what counts. The June comp was another good one even though the weather was rubbish, we still had just on 80 at the prize giving, which included 30 kids, great stuff. A great big thankyou to our awesome sponsors Arrum Ali, Allenco Marine, Harry Fort Decorators and of course our new sponsor Phil Stevens Racing. I’m sure you will agree there was as usual a great line up of prizes.
Next comp is the last for the season so let’s make it a good one, the points are close, so the pressure is on for many. The comp is on the 7th & 8th of July and we have excellent sponsors: Bell and Graham Solicitors, Matamata Tractors and Machinery and I’m really pleased to announce that the team at our very own New World has joined in, great stuff.
Coming up is our prizegiving night on the 11th of August, it should be a very good night. Having said that we need “you” there to help make it so of course. There will be a free light meal on the evening, so get along there about 6pm. Our very good points keeper, Keith, has decided this season to keep the final points secret, this in turn will create a bit more intrigue of course so get there and see who comes out on top. Also, on Wednesday night the 15th of August we will be holding our AGM at the clubrooms, come along please and have your say in how the club is to go forward.
Please return your trophy back to Sportsworld ASAP for us to organise these seasons winners. One of the committee has suggested that if any of your crew, or mates do anything silly over the competition weekends dob them in, this will add a bit more fun to the prize giving nights, sounds good to me.
On a personal note P and I and our family thank you so much for your support for our wee fisherman grandson Latham, he is fighting a good fight up there at Starship and your kind thoughts mean a lot to us.
